06 // Frequently Asked Questions About MIDH Cold Storage & Packhouse Subsidy

What is meant by a credit-linked back-ended subsidy in MIDH?

The subsidy amount is not given as cash upfront. Instead, the National Horticulture Board disburses the approved subsidy into a Subsidy Reserve Fund (SRF) account at your financing bank. No interest is charged on the subsidy portion, and it is adjusted against the loan balance upon successful project completion.

What is the minimum capacity for a cold storage project under NHB?

Standard cold storage projects typically have a minimum capacity of 2,000 Metric Tonnes (MT) up to a maximum subsidized capacity of 5,000 MT per beneficiary.
